Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Sector: Recycling and Waste Collections
Location: Southall
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 am - 3:00 pm
Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour

We have an opportunity for Class 2 Waste & Recycling Drivers to join a dedicated waste and recycling collections team based in Southall. In this role, you will work as part of a small crew delivering essential waste and recycling collection services across the London Borough of Hounslow.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving a waste collection truck to complete scheduled waste and recycling collection rounds across the London Borough of Hounslow.
  • Collecting a range of waste streams, including general refuse, dry recycling, food waste, garden waste, and bulky waste from residential and commercial properties.
  • Transporting collected waste safely to designated disposal or recycling facilities and unloading the vehicle in accordance with site procedures.
  • Ensuring all allocated collection rounds are completed within scheduled timescales and accurately reporting any missed collections using the in-cab system.
  • Working closely with the collection crew to safely load waste and recycling materials onto the vehicle while following safe working practices.
  • Ensuring any spillages that occur during collections are cleared promptly to maintain clean and safe public areas.
  • Returning emptied bins and containers neatly to the front of each property following collection.
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks, reporting any defects promptly, and ensuring the waste collection truck is operated safely and responsibly.
  • Following all health and safety procedures to protect colleagues, residents, and other road users throughout the working day.

Requirements:

  • HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
  • CPC Card
  • Digital Tachograph Card
