A Principal Fire Engineer role in Colchester, Essex, joining a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering commercial, residential, healthcare and education projects. Suitable for an experienced fire engineering professional with 7+ years of consultancy experience, the position involves leading technical delivery, preparing fire strategies, mentoring engineers and working with clients, design teams and approving authorities across complex building projects.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery and quality assurance across projects

• Prepare and review fire strategies for complex developments

• Apply performance-based and prescriptive fire engineering approaches

• Mentor engineers and support technical knowledge sharing

• Liaise with clients, design teams and approving authorities

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Fire Engineering or related engineering discipline

• 7+ years of fire engineering consultancy experience

• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance

• Experience preparing fire strategies and technical documentation

• Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartership

Salary & Benefits

• £60,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience

• Hybrid working with two office days weekly
