Asbestos Surveys:

Management and Pre-Refurbishment/ Demolition asbestos surveys to a ranging variety of building types of all ages from domestic dwellings, commercial buildings, public buildings, retail units/outlets and industrial buildings to the methods and standards set out by the HSE in HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide.

Bulk Sampling:

Our qualified and competent asbestos personnel collect bulk samples as in accordance with HSG 248 Section 4: The Analystsâ€™ Guide. Samples are then submitted to a UKAS accredited testing laboratory conforming to BS EN ISO 17025 who then analyse the sample(s) and provide bulk analysis certificateâ€™s to confirm whether or not asbestos is present. We offer this service either as part of asbestos building surveys or as specific client sampling requests.

Training:

Asbestos Awareness - We can help employers to satisfy Regulation 10, CAR 2006 (information, instruction and training). This is for those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos whilst carrying out their normal everyday job/work, or who may influence how work is carried out. The HSE have particularly targeted tradespersons such as maintenance staff, plumbers, electricians, joiners, roofers, shop fitters, construction workers, painters and decorators, plasterers, gas engineers, architects, building surveyors and other such professionals.

Removal & Analytical Works:

We project the removal and disposal works of asbestos containing materials via fully insured and licensed HSE approved contractors as in accordance with HSG 247 Asbestos: the Licensed Contractors â€™ Guide. We can also assist in the arrangement of air monitoring works and the issuing of site re-occupation certificates following the completion of removal works as in accordance HSG 248 Section 4: The Analysts â€™ Guide via UKAS testing laboratories.

Insurance:

Westland Environmental Safety Ltd has Principle Contractor Public Liability cover for Â£5 million and Professional Indemnity cover of Â£500,000 through Miles Smith Ltd.

Personnel:

Our team of CSCS card holding personnel have extensive experience of working for UKAS accredited laboratories as senior asbestos consultants with British Occupational Health Society (BOHS) and hold the full range of proficiency modules (P401-P406)
