We manufacture and supply throughout the South East an extensive range of concrete building blocks and decorative products for the garden.

Our range includes paving, walling, block paving and both Fair Faced and General Purpose dense aggregate building blocks. Thakeham’s range of dense aggregate building blocks conform to British Standards 6073:part 1 – 1981 and are available in Fair Faced and General Purpose grades. All purpose Fair Faced concrete blocks are dense aggregate building blocks manufactured from class 2 aggregates (gravel and crushed natural stone, except limestone) for use in loadbearing applications. Compressive strengths of 7N/mm² and above are standard throughout most of the range. The blocks are fair faced as standard, but will accept rendering and plaster readily. The fair face is eminently suitable for direct decoration – a significant advantage in many forms of construction.

Ideal for use:

Where a smooth fair face finish is required e.g. sports halls, warehouses, industrial and agricultural units

Below damp-proof course in all aspects excluding soils with high sulphate levels

Internal leaf of cavity construction – U values of 0.35 can be achieved with cavity insulation

External leaf of cavity walls – exposed or rendered externally

Retaining walls

Infilling for suspended concrete beam flooring to manufacturers specification.
