Epiroc extends warranty for telematics users

Excavator attachment manufacturer Epiroc has said it will offer an extended warranty to users who sign up to its usage tracking platform, Hatcon.

The new extended warranty, offered retroactively to users who have purchased attachments since the start of the year, covers 36 months, or 3,000 hours of use, whichever comes soonest. Products covered comprise Epiroc Combi Cutters, Concrete Busters, Bulk and Demolition Pulverizers and Hydraulic Compactors along with all transverse drum cutters and V Cutters manufactured by Epiroc and Erkat – Powered by Epiroc, provided they are equipped with Hatcon.

The offer takes a format increasingly familiar to buyers of car insurance—trade access to machinery information in return for a better deal. Epiroc argues that it highlights the role of connectivity as the foundation for predictable maintenance, with Hatcon enabling full transparency into actual operating hours, load and utilisation patterns and required service intervals.

The accompanying Epiroc InSite platform acts as an integrated digital support platform, offering continuous insight into attachment performance. The system assists operators and fleet managers with maintenance planning, early issue detection, and improved cost predictability, Epiroc says.
