Under the framework, the firm will support the delivery of critical engineering services across an electricity distribution network serving around eight million people in the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
The multi‑lot framework provides Northern Powergrid with access to specialist engineering expertise to help maintain, upgrade and future‑proof its distribution network. Through the framework, WSP will support the client across areas including design, planning, engineering and commissioning of the region’s power infrastructure.
WSP says that the appointment represents a significant milestone for its energy business. It plans to draw on its multidisciplinary expertise in electricity distribution network system studies and planning; design and asset management; digital engineering; and project management, engineering and commissioning services to support Northern Powergrid in delivering its investment and customer plans.
