Skanska UK has promoted Dan Williams to executive vice president, building services, reporting to president & chief executive Katy Dowding.
Williams now has full responsibility for Skanska鈥檚 building services operating unit, which includes the Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil (SRW) mechanical & electrical engineering business and the company鈥檚 facilities management operation. As such, he oversees a third of Skanska UK employees, operating across a range of sectors including defence, healthcare, education, commercial, local authority, residential and leisure.
Williams started his career with Skanska in 2001 through its student engineer programme and has worked on high-profile projects including Merton Fire Control Centre, Belmarsh West Prison and Battersea Power Station Phase 1. He has since progressed through senior roles, becoming managing director of Skanska鈥檚 building services operation in 2023.

His promotion to the executive management team follows the departure of executive vice president Andrew English, who only rejoined Skanska last year after four years away.
In other changes, UK chief financial officer Meliha Duymaz has been given executive responsibility for Skanska鈥檚 work on HS2 in place of English.
For an interim period, executive vice president & chief commercial officer Adam McDonald will hold executive leadership of Skanska UK鈥檚 infrastructure operations in addition to his existing responsibilities, as well as executive oversight of Cementation Skanska, which is led by managing director Andy Entwistle.
In the longer term, executive vice president Terry Muckian will lead the infrastructure operations and hold executive responsibility for Cementation Skanska on a permanent basis. Today Muckian leads the building operating unit; the phased approach is planned to minimise disruption while a successor is recruited.
Executive vice president Andrew English is leaving the business to pursue another opportunity. Katy Dowding added: 鈥淚 wish Andrew the best for the future and thank him for his contribution leading the infrastructure and HS2 operations.鈥�
All changes take place with immediate effect. There are no changes to responsibilities for executive vice presidents Adam Crossley (HR, communications and customer experience)聽and Jo Mortensen (technology, sustainability & innovation).
