Unite members accept pay deal

3 hours Engineering construction workers at sites such as Sizewell B and GSK Montrose, organised through Unite, have narrowly voted to accept a 4.5% pay deal, up from a 3.6% offer.

The workers operate under the National Agreement for the Engineering ÂÜÀòÔ´´ Industry, carrying out repair and maintenance at major facilities. The improved offer will see their wages rise by around £2,000.

The offer was only narrowly accepted, prompting the union to look ahead to the next pay negotiations. Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Due to the deal passing by a slim majority, Unite is now seeking to open negotiations for 2027 pay with the employers’ side as soon as possible."

NAECI covers around 3,000 workers at sites including EDF Torness, Sizewell B, Grangemouth, Drax, Stanlow ESSAR and GSK Montrose.
