Lowry Homes was established in 1997 and part of Isle of Man-registered Jackson Holdings. Its website claims a group turnover of 拢70m but according to thebusinessdesk.com the last set of accounts filed at Companies House showed that in 2008 the company made a pre-tax loss of 拢1.4m on turnover of 拢17.8m.
Brian Green and Paul Flint from the Manchester office of accountancy firm KPMG were appointed as joint administrators on 16 November.
Irwins, based in聽Horsforth, near Leeds, reported turnover of 拢24.3m in the year to 31 March 2009.
Mark Firmin and Howard Smith of KPMG were appointed joint administrators on 23 November.
