Seddon gives Victorian School a 21st century makeover

14 Dec 11 Seddon ÂÜÀòÔ´´ has completed a £3 million transformation of a Cumbrian primary school.

St George’s CE Primary and Nursery School in Barrow-in-Furness has undergone a major building refurbishment funded by Cumbria County Council.

The redevelopment has united the school’s four buildings which were previously separate. The 12-month building programme has preserved the historic Grade II listed sections of the Victorian building and created a state-of-the-art learning environment.

Stand-out features of the redeveloped building include a balcony area for Year Five and Six pupils where children can learn in an outdoor setting.

Seddon ÂÜÀòÔ´´ is part of the national Seddon Group, a family-owned company specialising in construction, maintenance and housebuilding.
