It already had a presence in the Russian construction market through its industrial mortars and insulation businesses.
The new site - which also contains a gypsum quarry - is located close to the village of Gomzovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It represents an investment of about 鈧�70m (拢60m) and has a workforce of 87 employees.
The plant was officially opened last week by Saint-Gobain chairman and CEO Pierre-Andr茅 de Chalendar at a ceremony attended by representatives from the local and regional authorities.
