Ricardo rail managing director Iain Carmichael has been appointed managing director for intelligent infrastructure at WSP UK & Ireland.
The promotion comes five months after the Canadian consulting engineer acquired the British automotive engineering consultancy.
Carmichael has with a professional background spanning systems engineering, operational safety, risk management and third party certification. He began his career in Hong Kong in the 1990s and was managing director of Ricardo’s Asia office there between 2015 and 2018 before returning to the UK.
