The new centre will be located on Westburn Road, and will provide approximately 2,000 sq metres of purpose-built facilities on two floors. The building will include a drop-in area, therapy and counselling rooms, accommodation for people who have to travel to Aberdeen, dedicated space for children and a garden.
Commenting on the new work, Mike Bruce, operations director for Morrison ԭ’s North East business, said: “This is an inspiring and exciting project to be working on. Morrison ԭ is delighted to be involved in the creation of this facility which will aid all those affected by cancer within the north-east of Scotland”.
CLAN’s chief executive, Debbie Thomson, said: “After many months of preparation we are very excited that work is underway for our new cancer support centre. We look forward to working with Morrison ԭ on what is a very significant project for us and more importantly for the community.”
Work got just got underway and is due to complete next summer.
