Mexico awards 210km high-speed rail contract

6 Nov 14 A consortium of China Railway ÂÜÀòÔ­´´ Corporation (CRCC), CSR Corporation and four local companies has won the contract for the Mexico City-Queretaro high-speed rail project.

Mexico’s federal Secretariat of Communications & Transport announced the award of the MXN58,950m (£2.7bn) contract this week.

The Mexican companies are Constructora y Edificadora, Constructora Teya, Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana and GHP Infraestructura Mexicana.

The rail line has a total length of 210 km with a designed speed of 300km/h.

Within the consortium, the CRCC’s will carry out approximately 60% of the construction work for MXN30,000m and 100% of the operating maintenance services section for MXN8,960m.
