The acquisition is in line with Mears鈥� stated strategy of expanding beyond building work for local authorities and social housing landlords and to broaden the diversity of its domiciliary care business to people with higher acuity needs. The main business of Choices is the provision of a supported living service to adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, in their own homes, and so fits well, Mears said.
Mears聽paid聽拢7.4m in cash, with聽a refundable deposit of up to 拢5m, depending on the successful novation of the acquired contracts.
