The Liverpool-based building services contractor, in business since 1969, is now being run by administrators from Duff & Phelps.
Strongs was active in mechanical & electrical contracting and HVAC work. More recently it had made a major push into renewable energy systems, including solar panels and heat pumps.
Clients include the Manchester Raddison Hotel, the Countess of Chester Hospital and Liverpool University.
