Erected on the former Vestas factory site, the two-storey, steel framed, open plan office building will be home to Griffon Hoverwork, pioneers in hovercraft design, manufacture and operation. The purpose-built offices will allow the company to take advantage of the nearby wharf and water access in an area that thrives on the shipbuilding industry.
The first-class facility, which received a BREEAM Very Good rating, joins Leadbitter’s impressive portfolio of commercial property projects in southern England.
It also adds to the growing range of successful projects completed by Leadbitter’s Southern ԭ and Housing division, which recently relocated to new offices in Southampton in order to accommodate its expansion in the region.
DavidCook, Regional Director of the division, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the economy of the region by providing high-quality developments like Merlin Quay, which give businesses the facilities they need to achieve success. This new development will no doubt enhance this already renowned maritime area.”
