The new centre has been designed in partnership with trust employees to ensure the design and layout is fit for purpose. On Friday, the project team, members of the NHS staff and patients of the current cancer centre celebrated the breaking ground on the new site, adjacent to the Louisa Martindale Building at Sussex Hospital, which Laing O鈥橰ourke completed in 2013.
Laing O鈥橰ourke鈥檚 managing director, Peter Lyons, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to deliver a project that will have a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Sussex. We鈥檝e designed the new cancer centre through close collaboration with NHS staff and patients, ensuring every aspect of the building improves their experience.鈥�
Once complete, the facility will provide modern cancer treatments, advanced technology, and contemporary clinical practice in a single, dedicated centre.
