Lafarge sells stake in Asian JV

19 Aug 11 Lafarge has agreed to sell Boral its stake in their Asian gypsum joint venture for €429m (£373.5m).

Lafarge Boral Gypsum Asia (LBGA) is a 50/50 joint-venture formed in 2000 between Lafarge and Boral. The company supplies plasterboard and other gypsum-related products across Asia, operating throughout 10 countries with 20 production facilities and employing about 2,100 people. In 2010, LBGA's sales group share accounted for €181m, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation group of €31m.

This deal is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
