Knights Brown has opened an office in Norwich to strengthen its transmission & distribution (T&D) capability and support energy infrastructure construction.

The new office will operate as a regional hub for Knights Brown鈥檚 growing T&D team, which now numbers more than 150 people across direct and freelance roles. The expansion reflects increasing demand for specialist civils capability as the UK modernises the electricity grid to accommodate new renewable connections.

Knights Brown is headquartered in Ringwood, Hampshire and has offices in South Wales, Kent, Scotland and now East Anglia. Turning over around 拢100m a year, its work spans substation and turbine civil engineering and groundworks, grid reinforcements and enabling infrastructure as well coastal and port work, water utilities, infrastructure and buildings.

David Shillabeer, head of transmission & distribution, said: 鈥淓ast Anglia is one of the most active regions in the country for renewable generation and grid investment. Establishing a permanent base here signals our intent and strengthens our ability to support the major programmes of work taking place. This office gives our teams the proximity and platform they need to deliver projects safely, efficiently and in genuine collaboration with our customers.鈥

Steven Price, divisional director for energy, added: 鈥淥ur teams are already involved in critical infrastructure across the UK, and demand for capability in T&D civils is only increasing as new generation comes online. Having a dedicated hub in Norwich enhances how we work with operators, developers and delivery partners, and positions us to support the region鈥檚 long term energy ambitions.鈥
