4 hours ÂÜÀòÔ´´ has started in South Norfolk on a road scheme described as crucial to the local economy.

The new road will unlock 20 hectares of land for business use around the Lotus factory

The £8.4m Hethel spine road scheme provides the infrastructure required to support the future growth of the Hethel Engineering Centre.

The project will unlock land owned by Hethel Enterprises and enhance the Lotus Cars factory, creating a hub for engineering firms alongside the sports car manufacturer.

Following completion of extensive preliminary works, Jackson Civil Engineering has begun main construction of the new road, including a roundabout to provide direct access to the new employment area.

The scheme is being delivered through a partnership between South Norfolk Council and Norfolk County Council,

The project will unlock 20 hectares of land, allocated in the Greater Norwich Local Development Plan, enabling more start-up businesses to move into the Hethel Engineering Centre and provide the space necessary for established technology-based businesses to grow.
