Martin McGlasson, 37, worked for ACP Concrete in Workington. He was polishing the nearly completed structure as it stood on its side. Why it fell over is being investigated by the Health & Safety Executive.
ACP Concrete is part of the Thomas Armstrong group of companies. Thomas Armstrong managing director Keith Denham told the local press: 鈥淢artin was a first class guy and he had been here at the company for a long time. His brother also works for us in the timber section and they are both really good workers.
鈥淚t is a terrible day for the company and for all the guys who work here. It is our worst nightmare and it looks like it was just a freak accident but we will be back in operation on Monday morning."
