One of the defining features of Hillhead has always been the opportunity to see plant and equipment performing real jobs of work in a genuine quarry environment. For 2026, the exhibition is taking that experience even further with the introduction of a new curated demonstration programme in the Quarry Face area.

Hosted by broadcaster and technology presenter Nikki Dean, the curated demonstrations will combine live machine operation with expert commentary and manufacturer interviews, giving visitors a closer look at machine performance, technology and operator capability in demanding working conditions. A giant LED screen overlooking the quarry face will ensure visitors can follow the action and hear directly from the engineers and operators behind the equipment.

Taking place at 11:00, 12:30 and 14:00 each day, the curated demonstrations will feature leading manufacturers including Hyundai, CASE, LiuGong, JCB, Hitachi, DEVELON, SANY, Komatsu, SBM, Corgin and XCMG, with a wide range of new product launches expected to feature throughout the programme.
