UEL鈥檚 new academic building on Water Lane in east London will become home to a variety of healthcare-related courses.
The 拢45m building forms part of a wider 拢170m investment committed by the university over the next three years on the expansion of its healthcare teaching.
At a ground breaking ceremony last week, vice chancellor Amanda Broderick said: 鈥淭his groundbreaking showcases how our university is moving forward on our commitment to train the healthcare professionals of tomorrow to meet the future needs of the NHS. It gives our students and staff the opportunity to make a real difference in reducing health inequalities and creating a fairer, healthier future for everyone.鈥
Graham was awarded the construction contract in December [see previous report here] following a procurement process based on its experience in the higher education and healthcare sectors.
Completion is expected by July 2027.
