The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has awarded Galliford Try 聽a 拢60m contract for a schedule of works that it is delivering on behalf of the US Air Force (USAF) based at Lakenheath.
The project will create three new munitions handling buildings, including storage, testing, maintenance and administrative facilities.
This will be the first job that Galliford Try has done for the US forces although it has worked on other RAF bases in the east of England, including RAF Marham and RAF Coningsby.
Cliff Wheatley, managing director of Galliford Try Building, said: 鈥淲e have a strong track record in delivering high quality facilities for the RAF throughout the country. We are delighted to now be working with USAF and our partners at the DIO, to deliver this complex project that is crucial to the operation of the Lakenheath base.鈥
