Delivered through Accredex, the refreshed health & safety course and test for construction professionals provides profession-specific compliance tailored to the different roles across the built environment.

The updated content places emphasis on the responsibilities introduced by the Building Safety Act, supporting organisations and individuals in meeting competence and accountability expectations.

The certification is designed for built environment professionals who occasionally visit site and need understanding of key safety principles without requiring a full operative level qualification.  The certification offers flexible online learning that can be accessed anytime, from any device, allowing it to fit around busy professional schedules, the CIC said.

The certification is an approved route to obtaining an AQP/PQP CSCS or SKILLcard, providing an alternative to the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for built environment professionals. It is also the route to a CSCS Red Trainee Card for those enrolled on academic qualifications.  The course also provides five CPD hours.

Construction Industry Council chief executive Graham Watts said: “The refreshed certification brings the requirements of the Building Safety Act into clear focus for built environment professionals. It offers a tailored, flexible and accessible way for individuals to demonstrate competence, while giving employers confidence that their teams understand the latest regulatory obligations.”

The CIC is hosting a free webinar on Monday 16th March at 12.30pm to introduce the course.
