Latest acquisition of private-equity backed building maintenance group Cardo is a family-owned painting and decorating contractor that had a bumper year last year.
Trident Maintenance Services has a range of clients across the social housing, healthcare, education, custodial, and commercial sectors, delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment and improvement programmes. 聽In the year to March 2025 it grew turnover from 拢11.8m to 拢18.4m and made a profit before tax of 拢1.7m.
Managing director Kenny Robson said: 鈥淭rident has been a tremendous success story and was built on a very simple principle: if you invest properly in motivated and incentivised people, the results will follow. By supporting our teams, empowering their decision-making, and working collaboratively with our clients and supply chain, we鈥檝e built a business that consistently delivers and that people trust.鈥
He added: 鈥淛oining Cardo Group marks an exciting next chapter for Trident. It gives us the scale, backing and shared ambition to grow sustainably, expand our capabilities across housing, healthcare, education and other key market sectors, and invest even further in our people, while staying true to the values, culture, and standards that have defined Trident from day one. I鈥檓 genuinely excited about what we can achieve together for our clients, our teams, and the communities we serve.鈥
Cardo has been in the acquisitions business since its formation in 2023 when social housing maintenance contractor LCB Group was sold by its founder, Liam Bevan, to private equity group Buckthorn Partners. Within two years it acquired Osborne Property Services, building maintenance specialist Jefferies Contractors in the Midlands, A&N Lewis in Wales, HeatCare Oil & Gas and Rodgers & Johnston in Scotland, Breyer Roofing and SERS Energy Solutions. In September 2025 it added Newry-based CTS Projects.
Cardo Group chief executive is Liam Bevan. He said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to welcome Trident Maintenance Services Ltd into Cardo Group. Trident鈥檚 people-first culture, strong operational discipline, and trusted client relationships align perfectly with our own values.
鈥淭rident expands our national capabilities, particularly in the north of England, and enhances our offering across Scotland while supporting our long-term strategy of investment in skilled local workforces and supply chains.鈥
