Caddick lands £25m Durham PBSA scheme

4 hours Caddick ԭ has been awarded a £25m design and build contract to built purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Durham.

Melbury Court

Developer Whitesmocks Limited has appointed Caddick ԭ to Caddick build the 232-bed Melbury Court, off Old Dryburn Way in Durham.

The development will comprise purpose-built living spaces designed to meet demand for student accommodation in the city.  Completion is expected in summer 2027.

Steve Ford, regional managing director of Caddick ԭ North East & Yorkshire, said: “The scheme at Melbury Court represents a significant investment in high-quality student accommodation and demonstrates continued confidence in the city’s thriving higher education sector. We look forward to working collaboratively with our partners to deliver a best-in-class scheme that will serve students for years to come.”

The appointment to Melbury Court comes a year after Caddick launched its Durham office and builds on its work in the county. This also includes a distribution centre for German courier firm DPD at Richardson Barberry’s Forrest Park development at Newton Aycliffe.
