The multi-million pound contract will see BAM deliver an 83,000 sq ft, four-storey concrete framed building with a zinc-clad fa莽ade, and extensive glazing and curtain walling .
The new building will replace factory units on Winterstoke Road next to a railway line on land owned by Imperial Tobacco. Demolition of the factory units has already begun and construction of the new building will start in September.
Imperial Tobacco follows Severn Trent Water, BAE Systems, Network Rail, and the Co-Operative Group in choosing BAM recently for signature buildings.

聽BAM project manager for the scheme is Ross Cameron, who recently delivered the University of Exeter鈥檚 new Business School. Bristol-based Eagle Land will be acting as project managers for Imperial Tobacco, CB Richard Ellis is employer鈥檚 agent and Gardiner & Theobald cost consultants. The designer team includes聽Bristol-based architect AWW, structural engineer Fairhurst and Hoare Lea for the M&E services.
