BAM entered the Cornish market in 2011 from its Exeter regional office. This is its first project under the Cornwall Council framework and fourth in the county altogether, bringing the total value of the contractor鈥檚 work there to more than 拢30m.
The three-storey office block at Beacon Technology Park will allow the council to bring together a number of services under one roof and improve operational efficiency.
BAM is targeting a DEC rating of five, with sustainability features to include photovoltaic cells on the roof and natural ventilation.
The project is due to start on site in February, with completion scheduled for April 2015.

BAM has completed the 拢10m Treliske innovation centre in Truro; the 拢8m Truro residences project for Exeter University; and the 拢3m St. Michael鈥檚 Catholic secondary free school in Camborne.
