Balfour Beatty awarded rail bridge replacement work

19 Jan 12 Network Rail Infrastructure has awarded Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering an £8.9m contract to replace 18 railway overbridges on the GN/GE route.

The work will enable freight services to use the route and release capacity on the East Coast Main Line (ECML).

Steelwork fabrication and enabling works, amounting to 38% of the contract value, will be subcontracted.
