Atlas Copco launches hybrid generators

2 hours Atlas Copco has launched a range of compact hybrid generators, combining battery storage with diesel power in a single unit.

The units are designed to be charged off of the grid, or by using their built in diesel generator. This can also be used to provide peak power when needed. The company also offers solar panels to keep batteries topped up.

The new QHS integrated hybrid generators are, the manufacturer says, designed to enable rental fleets to deliver reliable, lower-emission power without adding operational complexity, by combining diesel engine and battery technology into a single, all-in-one canopy unit.

They are able to automatically manage energy from different sources, cutting unnecessary engine runtime and fuel consumption at low and variable loads. Compared with conventional diesel-only operation, integrated hybrid generators can deliver up to 80% fuel savings, reduce COâ‚‚ emissions by up to 80%, and cut engine runtime by more than 95%, lowering operating costs while supporting customer sustainability goals.

Rental-ready features include multiple socket options, a terminal board, external fuel connections, and FleetLink telemetry for remote monitoring, diagnostics and proactive fleet management. Operators can, Atlas Copco says, deploy the unit quickly, monitor performance remotely, and maximise uptime while reducing the operational workload for field teams.
