The business has acquired new premises in Queensway Meadows Industrial Estate and appointed four highly experienced staff from a competitor who recently exited the local market.
The team, who have worked together for 20 years, are led by depot manager, Martin Fanthorpe. The depot is already seeking two additional staff with the firm making an immediate substantial investment in a modern fleet of power tools, access and survey equipment to ensure plenty of availability for local construction businesses.
Alliance Tool Hire also has a dedicated lifting division, with LEEA-qualified lifting engineers, a comprehensive hire fleet and bespoke software to support testing, inspection and management of customer equipment.
The Newport depot represents Alliance Tool Hire鈥檚 third opening in three years having established successful operations through acquisitions of Avon Tools Hire in Bath in 2023 and West Tool in Bristol in 2024.
Beth Peters, CEO of Alliance Tool Hire, said: 鈥淲e are launching in Newport to take advantage of a dynamic and growing Welsh construction market, and we will bring a wide array of premium products and an exceptional level of service that will help local construction businesses work more effectively.
鈥淚n the last few years the area has seen a sharp reduction in national tool hire suppliers who have either scaled down or completely exited the Welsh market, but we see true promise and a platform to not only establish ourselves but look at further expansion. Our 拢1.6m investment over five years is just the start.鈥
