Cheshire East Borough Council is seeking a contractor for a seven-year highways maintenance deal worth £147m.

The contract covers: asset management; civil and structural engineering, including carriageway, footway, structure repairs and surfacing; traffic signals, street lighting and signs; winter maintenance; environmental services; and professional services.

The council may seek to broaden the scope of the contract to involve other public bodies.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 24 August 2010.
