Rate: Up to £550 per day

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Contract Manager / Senior Building Surveyor to join a leading social housing organisation delivering complex, safety-critical remediation projects across its residential portfolio.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of high-profile programmes involving building safety, fire remediation, latent defects and major capital works, while working alongside a highly experienced Assets team dedicated to improving homes and protecting residents.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Assets, you will be responsible for managing complex remediation and latent defect projects from inception through to completion.

You'll oversee contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and within budget. The position focuses heavily on external wall systems, fire safety compliance and major remediation works, supporting the organisation's Building Safety Act obligations.

Working with Building Information Modelling (BIM), you'll help maintain the "Golden Thread" of information while ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex remediation and latent defect projects across a residential housing portfolio.
  • Manage projects from investigation through to completion.
  • Deliver major capital works, retrofit and building safety programmes.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality, health & safety and programme delivery.
  • Administer JCT contracts and oversee contract compliance.
  • Act as Client under CDM Regulations where required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and Building Regulations (Part B).
  • Produce technical reports and project updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Engage with residents throughout major works, ensuring excellent communication and customer service.
  • About You

    To be successful, you'll have a strong background in building surveying and project management, with experience delivering complex remediation or capital works projects.

    You'll ideally have:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, 萝莉原创 Management or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (RICS, CIOB or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Proven experience delivering remediation, latent defect or major capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cladding systems, external wall construction and building pathology.
  • Excellent understanding of fire safety legislation, Building Safety Act requirements and Building Regulations Part B.
  • Experience administering JCT contracts within a public sector or housing environment.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience acting as Client under CDM Regulations.
