Associate / Associate Director - Civil Engineering
London | Lead & Build a New Team
I'm partnering with a well-established, award-winning multi-disciplinary consultancy that delivers architecture, engineering, surveying, and project management services across the UK. They're now looking to appoint an ambitious Associate or Associate Director (Civil Engineering) to set up and grow their civils capability in the London office, working closely with strong existing teams in other regions.
This is a key strategic hire-ideal for someone ready to take ownership, build a team, and play a leading role in shaping the discipline's future.
The Role
- Establish and lead the civil engineering function in London.
- Deliver and oversee civils design across a varied project portfolio (highways, drainage, earthworks, infrastructure, site layouts).
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across multiple offices.
- Maintain compliance with UK design standards, planning requirements, and CDM.
- Ensure high-quality, sustainable, technically sound solutions.
- Support business development and contribute to the discipline's growth strategy.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified civil engineer with strong industry experience.
- Chartered or working toward Chartership (ICE or similar).
- Strong Civil 3D skills.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor others.
- Commercial awareness and appetite to build a team.
- Full driving licence + DBS check.
