Location: Plymouth & Exeter (Site & Home Based)
Salary: Up to £43,000 + Benefits

Daniel Owen is proud to be working with a well-established and highly respected housing provider to recruit an experienced Voids Surveyor to join their Property Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor with experience in voids, repairs or planned maintenance to take ownership of a portfolio of properties, ensuring empty homes are returned to a lettable standard safely, efficiently and to a high quality.

The role is predominantly site and home based, covering housing stock across the Plymouth and Exeter areas.

The Role

As a Voids Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the voids process from inspection through to completion, working closely with contractors to ensure properties are turned around quickly while maintaining quality, compliance and value for money.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out pre-void inspections and preparing detailed specifications of work.
  • Undertaking post-inspections to ensure completed works meet the required quality standards.
  • Managing contractor performance, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Providing technical advice and resolving issues that arise throughout the delivery of works.
  • Monitoring costs and ensuring value for money across the voids programme.
  • Liaising with internal teams and contractors to minimise turnaround times and support the efficient reletting of properties.
  • Ensuring all works comply with relevant legislation, health and safety requirements and company standards.
  • About You

    We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Surveyor within social housing, housing maintenance or property services.
  • Experience managing void properties, repairs or planned maintenance programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance practices.
  • Experience producing work specifications and carrying out pre and post inspections.
  • The ability to manage contractors and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
  • A full UK driving licence.
